Summer Clay Camp
Unleash your creativity and get hands-on with clay in our exciting Clay Camp! Just like in our regular art classes, our camps focus on individualized instruction. We tailor our approach to each student’s skill level, helping them grow as artists and enjoy the process.
What You’ll Learn:
-
Wheel Throwing: Experience the magic of shaping clay on a potter’s wheel.
-
Hand-Building Techniques: Dive into the world of pinch pots, coiling, and learn to attach clay pieces using slips.
-
Decorative Techniques: Carve, stamp, and use sprig moulds to add unique textures and designs to your creations.
-
2D Relief Project: Create a relief or 2D piece with air-dry clay, practice your building skills, and finish your artwork with acrylic paints. This project will be ready for you to take home immediately after camp!
In the final class, you will learn how to apply underglazes, finish your work, and prepare it for the kiln firing. The kiln-fired pieces will be ready for pick-up 1-2 weeks after the camp ends.
Tuition:
-
$430 includes all materials, clay, glazes, and firing of your work.
Summer Art Camp
Whether your child is picking up a paintbrush for the first time or already filling sketchbooks at home, our camp provides individualized instruction, meeting each student where they are and encouraging both technical growth and creative confidence. Art Camp is designed elementary and middle school students!
Our approach is rooted in three core principles:
• Encouraging open-ended curiosity, experimentation, and exploration;
• Building strong foundational and technical skills;
• Helping each student discover and develop their own visual language and personal style.
Days 1–2: Warm-Up Discovery Days
Campers begin with a choice of three subjects—landscape, animal portrait, or a plate of treats—and explore them using oil pastels, acrylics, or colored pencils. This project introduces key concepts while allowing each student to express their interests and work in a medium that feels right for them. It also provides instructors with insight into each camper’s current skills, creative tendencies, and areas for growth.
Days 3: Narrative with Watercolor
In this one-day project, campers will create a short, illustrated story using watercolor as their primary medium. This session encourages imagination, storytelling, and visual sequencing, while introducing expressive watercolor techniques like layering, washes, and texture. Each student’s story can be playful, poetic, or entirely abstract—whatever suits their style and age. Instruction is personalized to ensure younger students feel supported while older ones can dive deeper into concept and composition.
Days 4-5: Contemporary Still Life from Everyday Objects
Students will bring in a few personal, everyday items to be used in a still life composed by the instructor. Working from observation, they’ll explore key formal elements such as composition, value, and balance.
Medium choice is open, and experimentation is encouraged. Each student will be guided to create a still life that reflects their own artistic decisions and approach, building both technical skill and creative confidence.

$360 includes all materials.
